What Is Equine Assisted Learning?
// Welcome to Common Ground at Paradise Stables.
What is Equine Assisted Learning?
Equine Assisted Learning is a learner-based educational, experiential opportunity with horses. More specifically, it is an effective approach to human development that encourages individual and team growth. Participants engage in objectively driven exercises on the ground (no riding involved). Simply put, it helps humans to move forward in their lives by building essential life skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere - without venturing into Equine Therapy. Exercises are developed to encourage self-confidence through validated, hands-on experiences. Equine Assisted Learning has proved to be useful, powerful, positive, educational, and creative.
How Do Our Programs Work?
01
Program Briefing & Safety
Upon you or your client's arrival, we extend a warm welcome to our facility! We will then discuss safety protocols & housekeeping practices and clarify the program details as well as its objectives. It is our mission to ensure that all participants have an enjoyable, safe and educational experience in each of our programs! And that each skills learned transfers back to the real world.
02
Arena Time With Horses
This is where the magic happens. You will partner with your team and with your horse and actively participate through the program. Each program has an objective and guaranteed outcome. Everything learned will be paralleled back to real life! These skills will then be transferrable to your own life.
03
Debriefing & Reflection
Once the arena time is over, we'll come back into the classroom where we'll debrief the program, bring everything back to the objective one more time and ensure the learning really transfers back to life.
We then end the session with achievement words, and journal your progress to be able to reflect back.
